She majored in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College (1994) and attended College Year in Athens (1992-1993). She studied Classical Archaeology at the University of Cincinnati (1995-2001), and was awarded an MA in 1997; she left the program ABD. She attended the American School of Classical Studies in Athens (1998-1999). She has done field survey, excavation, and study in Italy, Greece, Israel, Italy, and the United States.
From 2002-2008 she worked in the Reference Department in the Duke University Libraries, and from 2008-2011 she worked at the Miller Learning Center at the University of Georgia, and was library liaison to the Classics Department. In 2011-2012 she worked in the Classics Library at the University of Cincinnati.
