Monica Berti is assistant professor of Digital Humanities at the University of Leipzig (Alexander von Humboldt Chair of Digital Humanities), where she teaches courses in digital classics and digital philology. She has been working since 2008 with the Perseus Digital Library at Tufts University, where she has been visiting professor in the Department of Classics.

Monica Berti's research interests are mainly focused on ancient Greece and Digital Classics. She is currently working on representing quotations and text reuses of ancient lost works and she is leading the Leipzig Open Fragmentary Texts Series (LOFTS), which is part of the Open Philology Project of the Alexander von Humbolt Chair of Digital Humanities at the University of Leipzig. As part of these interests she has been developing the Digital Fragmenta Historicorum Graecorum (DFHG) and the Digital Athenaeus.

As part of her teaching activities, Monica Berti is program director of Sunoikisis Digital Classics, which is an international consortium of Digital Classics programs developed by the Alexander von Humboldt Chair of Digital Humanities at the University of Leipzig in collaboration with the Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies and Institute of Classical Studies London.
