Monica Berti is a Classicist and Digital Humanist and she works as an assistant professor at the University of Leipzig (Alexander von Humboldt Chair of Digital Humanities), where she teaches courses in digital scholarly editing and textual criticism. She has been working since 2008 with the Perseus Digital Library at Tufts University, where she has been visiting professor in the Department of Classics. She has been extensively publishing and leading projects in the field of both Classics and the Digital Humanities: see Monica Berti.

Monica Berti's research interests are mainly focused on ancient Greece and the digital humanities. She is currently working on representing quotations and text reuses of ancient lost works (see Fragmentary Texts and She is implementing a Fragmentary Texts Editor (FTE) within Perseids, which is a collaborative platform being developed by the Perseus Project that leverages and extends pre-existing open-source tools and services to support editing and annotating TEI XML documents in Classics.

Monica Berti is also leading the Leipzig Open Fragmentary Texts Series (LOFTS), which is part of the Open Philology Project of the Humbolt Chair of Digital Humanities at the University of Leipzig.
