Son of Suda Online (SoSOL)
SoSOL is a tool for the tagless creation and editing of EpiDoc XML by papyrologists and epigraphers. The tool can be repurposed for almost any kind of documentary editing, and can even be used in pedagogical applications, training students in paleography and editing, and allowing their work to be reviewed, graded, and incorporated into official corpora.
- Currently under development as part of the Integrating Digital Papyrology project.
- See http://idp.atlantides.org/trac/idp/wiki/SoSOL/Overview
- See also http://www.digitalclassicist.org/wip/wip2008-03dp.html (downloadable audio and slideshow of discussion by Dot Porter)
- The implementation of SoSOL in the Papyrological Navigator ([PN]) goes by the name Papyrological Editor ([PE]).
