Description

The Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW) is a center for advanced scholarly research and graduate education, intended to cultivate comparative and connective investigations of the ancient world from the western Mediterranean to China, open to the integration of every category of evidence and relevant method of analysis. It will feature doctoral and postdoctoral programs, with the aim of training a new generation of scholars who will enter the global academic community and become intellectual leaders. Built around a mix of established and younger scholars, the Institute is designed to make possible concrete progress in ground-breaking study that would be more difficult within narrow disciplinary bounds.

Projects, publications, and resources produced by or in collaboration with ISAW include:
