DVCTVS is the result of the co-operation of the four institutions which in June 2009 signed an agreement with the purpose of promoting the study of the two most important papyrological collections in Spain. The Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, the Abadia de Montserrat and the Companyia de Jesús in Catalonia joined their efforts in order to support scientific work on the papyrological funds of Montserrat and those in the Palau-Ribes collection, housed at the Arxiu Històric de la Companyia de Jesús a Catalunya.
