Athena Ruby is a comprehensive font for use in the scholarly publication of Byzantine inscriptions. It is an OpenType, Unicode-compliant font, and compatible with all major operating systems. Named after its predecessor font, Athena, and Dumbarton Oaks Publications Manager Glenn Ruby (d. 2004), Athena Ruby is designed to represent Byzantine inscriptions in Latin and Greek. The font has letters, letter variants, ligatures, and decoration common in coins, seals, and weights, but not excluding other media, such as mosaics and frescoes.
