Description
The Gymnasia project is dedicated to the study of the material and institutional forms of competitive and gymnastic culture in the Greek cities of Asia Minor between the 4th century BCE and the 3rd century CE.
Its aim is to provide a more detailed description of the material, institutional and cultural developments of gymnasiums and other sporting and competition structures (stadiums, hippodromes, etc.) in a region characterised by a large amount of archaeologic and epigraphic evidence, as well as a wide variety of cultural contexts.
