Taken The Research Squirrel Engineers are a collection of independent research projects focusing on Linked Open Data, Geoinformatics and Cultural Heritage.

The Research Squirrel Engineers are a open network of researchers related to Research Software Engineering, Geoinformatics and Cultural Heritage background.

We want to cooperate with other researchers who want to do their independent research under one brand: The RSE: Research Squirrel Engineers!

Projects

  • Squirrel Papers: an open-access journal collecting research papers, working papers, blog posts, data, and software around LOD, RSE, cultural heritage, and geosciences.
  • SPARQLing Unicorn QGIS Plugin: a QGIS plugin that enables users to perform SPARQL queries against Linked Data (e.g., Wikidata or other triplestores), retrieve geospatial data as GeoJSON layers, or convert QGIS vector layers into RDF for LOD workflows.
  • Ogham Linked Data: a linked data project converting catalogues of early medieval Ogham stones into RDF, integrating them into the LOD cloud (e.g., via Wikidata), and offering lookup and visualization tools for heritage data use.
  • Linked Pipes: a data-integration and processing platform for Linked Data workflows maintained by RSEn.
