==Description==
Based on an already existing focus on Byzantine Sigillography, the strategic concept ''DiBS - Digital Byzantine Studies'' developed in cooperation with the Cologne Center for eHumanities (CCeH) aims at the innovative further development of a cluster of four Byzantine so-called auxiliary disciplines - Sigillography, Numismatics, Epigraphy and Greek Manuscript Studies. The concept is based on research-based teaching and implements the following measures: (1) Object-related scientific research of collections, processing of superordinate historical questions and interpretation of historical knowledge. (2) Design of new courses (online courses, streamed lectures, asynchronous teaching units, webinars and podcasts) for existing BA and MA programs as a polyvalent course offering. Establishment of a new supplementary module "Digital Byzantine Studies" and integration into other ancient studies programs and into the Digital Humanities. (3) Knowledge transfer to museums and collections by training curators in SigiDoc and Dome-RTI (Reflective Transformation Imaging) techniques.
