''Diorisis Scan'' is a metre-agnostic prosody scanner for Ancient Greek (currently in beta) written in Python. The parsing algorithm consists of the following steps:&lt;br /&gt;

# syllabifying each word; identifying the weight of unambiguous syllables through orthography and accentuation;&lt;br /&gt;

The algorithm computes all possible scansions for syllables that may be susceptible of alterations (synizesis, shortening, etc.; ''correptio Attica'' is a parameter that may be specified when initializing the program) and is able to make decisions as to their application if the text is specified to be metrical.&lt;br /&gt;
The output of the program is both machine- and human-readable (standard metrical symbols in UTF8 encoding are used). &lt;br /&gt;
The program currently implements the following metres: &lt;br /&gt;

* iambic trimeter&lt;br /&gt;
* catalectic trochaic tetrameter&lt;br /&gt;
