Patrick J. Burns received his doctorate in Classics from Fordham University in 2016 and is currently Assistant Research Scholar with a focus on digital projects at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World. He has presented text-analysis research at meetings of the Society for Classical Studies and the Digital Classics Association, and has a forthcoming article of measuring and visualizing cross-genre intertextuality in Latin poetry. Patrick is a lead contributor for Classical Language Toolkit, focusing on development of the core natural language processing tools for Latin and Greek. As a member of the CLTK team, he participated in the 2016 Google Summer of Code, working on improving the accuracy and flexibility of the CLTK lemmatizer.
