She has worked on Sixth and Fifth Century Athens. Much of her research has been devoted to the institution of ostracism and the history of the Areopagos Council. She has published a monograph on Hipparchos son of Charmos, the first man ostracized in Athens.

She works also in the field of papyrology, editing texts of the collection of Ptolemaic papyri of the University of Genoa. In 2003 she participated in a seminar organized by the Istituto Papirologico "G. Vitelli" of Florence, working on inedited texts of the Heroninos archive.

Her current interests are focused both on Greek Historiography and Digital Humanities. She has just finished the first volume of the edition of the fragments of the works of Istros the Callimachean. At the link Perseus Digital Library she is working on a project for building a digital corpus of Greek fragmentary authors within the Perseus collection of classical sources.

Beside these works, she is interested in the history of ancient libraries. She is editor-in-chief of a project aiming at publishing a digital collection of sources on the Museum and the Ancient Library of Alexandria.
