Monica Berti received a degree in Ancient Greek History from the University of Turin and a PhD in Ancient History from the University of Genoa. Her main interests are focused on Greek History and Historiography, Epigraphy, Papyrology, and Digital Humanities.

She has worked on Sixth and Fifth Century Athens. Much of her research has been devoted to the institution of ostracism and the history of the Areopagos Council. She has published a monograph on Hipparchos son of Charmos, the first man ostracized in Athens.
