Description

The International Greek New Testament Project (IGNTP) is a collaborative project founded in 1948 to produce an apparatus of the Greek New Testament.

Since the publication of an apparatus to the Gospel according to Luke in 1987, the project has been working on the Gospel according to John. In recent years, this has taken the form of an electronic edition using the COLLATE and ANASTASIA software developed by Peter Robinson of ITSEE.

An electronic edition of the Greek majuscule manuscripts of John, completed in 2007, can be found at http://www.iohannes.com/majuscule/

This website also hosts electronic editions of the Old Latin manuscripts of John and the Byzantine Text of John. Further transcriptions and editions will be published on this website in the preparation for the critical edition.

The IGNTP is now working in collaboration with the Institut für neutestamentliche Textforschung in Münster (INTF), and the edition of John will appear as part of the Editio Critica Maior series. Once this is completed, work is scheduled to begin on the edition of the Epistles of Paul.
