Description

EpiGIS is "a WebGIS for the knowledge of the epigraphic locations in the Eastern Decima Regio, Venetia et Histria, of Roman Italy" (from the project description in a poster presented at the EAGLE 2016 Conference).

The project geo-tags around 6600 Greek and Latin inscriptions from Northeastern Italy (the Eastern Decima Regio of the Roman Empire). One of the goals of the project is to display the places of re-use of inscriptions.
