Description

Taken from the project website (accessed 2016-02-02):

This website introduces you to the wonderful world of the ancient Greek games. For more than a thousand years, from the eighth century BC until the early fifth century AD, the Greeks held competitions in running, fighting and horse driving in Olympia, which were the model for the modern Olympics. Side by side with the ancient Olympic games, hundreds of similar competitions were held in the Greek and Roman cities.
